Andreas FROBY

About Me
My name is Andreas Froby and 26 years old. I’m sitting in the federal committee right now. I have been active in JEF since 2011. Back then I was elected president of JEF-Sweden, which I was to 2014, after that I step down and now dealing with administrative issues of JEF-Sweden as Secretary General. Besides that, I’m political scientist with a focus on European studies. I’m liberal that is politically active in party politics at local, national and European level.

Motivation for the position
I want to be re-elected by you, the delegates of European Congress of JEF, because I have more to give and more ideas. I want to expand The new Federalist(TNF) to create a Scandinavian part of the magazine. I want to continue to be a part of the discussion how the institutional reform should be done and how it should look like. The working grouping I like to be chair or co-chair is the one of external communication, where I can work close to together with TNF, because that is best way we have to reach the broader public in Europe. My action plan will be to try to expand language versions of TNF and also work on strategies how we general should reach the broader public.

My Vision of the Future of JEF
We need to be more relevant to the general population in Europe, as we state in the political platform the federation have to develop bottom-up. The best way to do that is to answer how EU need to develop to solved the challenges ordinary people see all around Europe.

My Opinion on the needed Political Commissions and Taskforces/Working Groups
The most important political commission is the PC1 on institutional reforms, but also PC2 on the internal policy that needs to work on policies how EU should develop right now to solve the challenges we see. The most important Working group is one on external communication that really need to work on how we can reach the broader masses in Europe because it’s them we need to create United States of Europe. I want to be part of a working group on external communication and there work close together with TNF team how that magazine can reach out to more people. My first action would be to build the Scandinavian part of the magazine to reach out more to that part of Europe.
